The great majority of us watch pornography. Nearly 87 per cent of men and 76 per cent of woman are said to have visited adult entertainment sites. In fact, pornography drives the economy of the Internet and our appetite for it has led to Internet innovation.
That sex sells is hardly a startling discovery. But what attracts us to pornography, and why as a culture we demonize it, might be.
Ideally, sex creates a moment of extreme intensity, an altered state of consciousness, in which the past and the present, body, mind and spirit all merge to form a new reality, unlike most other experiences in our lives.

St. James Infirmary does it again with style for Sex Workers.
The Bay Area’s St. James Infirmary (http://stjamesinfirmary.org/) is one of my favorite pro-sex non-profits in San Francisco is one I served on as both a board member and as a volunteer over the years. In October they launched a new campaign that encourages people too look at Sex Workers and the stereotypes that people often assign to them.
The campaign itself is built on a series of posters with a diverse and often surprising representation of folks.
If you have extra $$ to donate to this truly great program – they are definitely are a deserving group.

So yeah.. between “churches” that want to play politics, “La’douchette Bachman and “Le’douche Santorum” stupidity and ignorance of LGBt’s and the over all stupidity of republicans – it all hit a nerve tonight.
Im tired of these so called “churches” being allowed this fiscal privilege to exclude, disperse hate, force lgbt youth to be shunned from safe spaces because the parents are practicing intolerance.
In fact parents who site religious scripture & practice that argues being LGBT is a sin, abomination or other hateful messages, and that forces a youth to leave home to survive being harassed or abused – with child abuse, endangerment and neglect. Prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
I work too friggen hard to hear “churches” that get away with not paying into the very system that allows its practitioners like TLC’s reality nightmare, The Duggars the right to have 18 kids, with no health insurance because they say “god will provide” and wants it for them… in the very same breath that tells these parents to shun lgbt youth

I wish some of our own leadership of which we voted in and have expectations of, figured out how to take this kind of stand.. given the paycheck they get is supposed to cover all of the constituency.. not just the “normal” ones..

Now I’m one of those guys who mutes the porn volume anyway – but on those times when I haven’t, it’s rare that I find the dialogue or ability of the talent to carry more than the scene.. so this made me laugh some tonight.

Monsters are always in season. How would you like one up your ass?
A group of friends designed a collection of dildos resembling monsters and they even have names. Personally, I have never named my dildos (my dick maybe). They are shipped from Canada so they have to be nice Monsters (everything from Canada is nice).
So, what am I talking about? – Monster dildos may be all the rage soon. Check out these pretty fantasticical shapes at necronomicox.com/etsy.com and two of the ones you will find are Zombi and Mythos.
They are allegedly comfortable (I personally have not tried them out myself) and like most silicone gear are easy to clean.
The dildo that most resembles what we are you used to jumping on, or in some cases, easing on top of carefully is Zombi. Zombi stands straight up (no pun intended). Notice the penis head on Zombi. This is for the user who is afraid of monsters.
The most artistic and exciting of the bunch is Mythos. In addition to being a dildo it would make a great art piece. Just remember if you put Mythos on display in the bathroom don’t let your guests light it like a candle. Mythos comes in any color – you can pick a 1,
2 or 3 color Mythos. Mythos also comes in different shapes for your anal pleasure. I suggest the website make a little youtube film (or xtube film) to demonstrate. We don’t want to hurt anything or anybody.

Colors are limitless with few limitations, so come combinations while cool – may not be able to be done. Sadly they cannot make any metallic-looking toys.

Now for the serious stuff…..
The manufacturer uses safe pigments as well, and mixes them directly into the silicone. There is no concern that the silicone is ‘painted,’ as it isn’t. There are no solvents used and all the pigment is within the silicone itself. To give it that glossy look, we all like shiny things (I know I do), each monster is given a final coat of un-tinted silicone to give it that glossy look.
To keep your monster clean, ordinary soap and water will do it or just put them in the dishwasher. Storage is important too, be careful of lint so wrap them to keep them in good working order.
NOTE: Do NOT use silicon lube when playing with the monsters. Water based or oil based lubes work best for these little babies.

Here we go again.. trying to make the gays fit a normative hetero model
I came across Steve Weinstein’s In Praise of Promiscuity several months back and meant to post something then but got sidetracked. So while going trough old emails – I revisited his link on the Village Voice where the original post was and decided it was worth sharing. 
Especially in light of some rather irritating “research” that surfaced implicating that gay men in monogamous couples have better health outcomes. This isn’t a new patter that some have tried – especially with the trend to want to push routine STD screening with increases in syphilis in gay men still occurring. But I have to say its a stretch. Here is the BBC News link on the story they posted earlier this month on the surveys: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-16203621 But to the credit of this study – they focused it on the role of “marriage” not monogamy in a state that allows gays to marry (MA). (Another issue I just don’t have the strength to go into today, but stay tuned for more on that debate in the new year…)
I think the only part I agree on – is men in relationships may be more likely to have routine health check-ups simply because life as a couple changes our ability to ignore health issues that being single allows for. But I think its part of a larger view of health and not one that can be so easily prescribed to STD health outcomes.
